Canadian mining companies in Africa
The African continent contains a tremendous wealth of minerals, yet the profits from those resources are not flowing to the countries where they are found. In fact, much of the money is going to Canadian mining companies. Africa now accounts for about 17 percent of Canadian mining assets abroad, up from 11 percent in 2001.
