Les RDV Carbone

Co-organisés par la Coop Carbone et la Chaire sur la décarbonisation de l'UQAM, cette première édition des RDV Carbone vise à réunir le monde académique et universitaire, le monde des affaires ainsi que les organisations spécialisées en décarbonation.

Ces rencontres interviennent dans un contexte où les politiques et les outils financiers imaginés et mis en place pour espérer atteindre les objectifs de réductions des émissions, essentiels à la décarbonation, restent mal compris et souvent mal accueillis par le grand public, et sont même remis en cause par les décideurs politiques.

Au programme de cet après midi, une conférence d'introduction aux marchés carbone et deux panels : l'un consacré à l'article 6 de l'Accord de Paris, qui régule les marchés internationaux et bilatéraux du carbone, récemment précisé lors de la dernière Conférence des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques (COP 29), et le second dédié à l'avenir des crédits compensatoires au Québec.

Co-organized by the Coop Carbone and UQAM's Chair in Decarbonization, this first edition of “Les RDV Carbone” aims to bring together academia, business and organizations focused on decarbonization.

The event comes at a time when the policies and financial tools designed to help achieve emission reduction targets essential for decarbonization remain poorly understood and, often, unpopular with the general public and even called into question by decision-makers.

The afternoon program includes an introductory conference on carbon markets and two panels : one on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, which governs international and bilateral carbon United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 29), and the second on the future of carbon offsetting in Quebec.
